Abstract

Esters (some novel) of methyl reserpate having the general formula <FORM:1066067/C2/1> wherein X stands for an atom of oxygen or sulphur, and the symbols R1, R2, R3, identical or different, in arbitrary positions of the benzene ring, signify atoms of hydrogen or halogen, or methoxy groups, are prepared by reacting a carboxylic acid of the general formula <FORM:1066067/C2/2> with a dicyclohexyl carbodiimide and methyl reserpate in the medium of an organic solvent, in the presence of pyridine.
