Abstract

1,065,634. Band clips. BTR INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 9, 1965 [Aug. 20, 1964], No. 34071/ 64. Heading E2B. A clip for embracing a body comprises a band I having a fold 2 providing two upstanding arms lying outwardly of the band and a cross-piece of general concave shape in the direction towards the inner aspect of the band, running between the two arms, such that when the fold is nipped to contract the band the fold forms two upstanding ears able to be folded to lie substantially flat against the outer surface of the band, the band having a split, and the end portions 3, 4 of the band facing the split being formed so that they can be held together by means of a clasp. As shown the end portions 3, 4 form shallow channels of which the webs 5, 6 are brought together after placing the clip round a body, and in use the end portions 3, 4 interengage with channel section portions of a clasp which has an apertured top wall 7, side walls 8, 9 and flanges 10, 11 defining a slot 12. In the embodiment shown the aperture in the wall 7 is dimensioned to receive the webs 5, 6 so that the slot 12 lies crosswise of the band, but in a second embodiment the slot 12 lies circumferentially of the band. The band may have more than one fold 2.
