Abstract

1,162,100. Hose coupling. ANCHOR COUPLING CO. Inc. 6 Nov., 1967, No. 50297/67. Heading F2G. A clamp half for a hose coupling comprises an arched portion 13 and flanges 15, 16, the inner face of the arched portion presenting a series of axially spaced, arched ribs 33, the flanges having substantially coplanar faces, a series of spaced, rigid tines 39 projecting outwardly from one of the faces and the other face having mating recesses 42 adapted to receive the tines of an opposing, similar clamp half. The faces of the tines are positioned at an angle "A" of from 100 to 120 degrees to provide a lateral force on the sides of the hose covering as the clamp halves 11, 12 are drawn together to secure the hose to the inner member 26 of the coupling.
