A dispensing device for carbonated beverages such as beer has a refrigerated storage tank 2, a cylinder of carbon dioxide to provide a pressure above the liquid to balance the pressure of dissolved gas, a peristaltic pump 14 and a meter 20 with dispense tap 24 the movements of which open and close a circuit controlling a solenoid-operated switch for an electric motor driving the pump.
