Abstract
1,064,694. Air filter. FAN SYSTEMS (PORT GLASGOW) Ltd. April 15, 1965 [April 1, 1964], No. 13410/64. Heading B1T. [Also in Division D1] Dust or fluff is collected on wire mesh screens 22 which form the upper faces of inlet ducts 14, which are connected to a vertical duct 12 containing a fan 15. The outlet from duct 12 is partly obturated by a replaceable, perforate plate 29, whose total outlet area determines the proportion of the gas stream which is diverted into pipes 17 and out through downwardly directed perforations therein on the screens 22. Pipes 17 are connected to duct 12 by flexible sections (26) (Fig. 2, not shown) to permit adjustment. Screens 22 are periodically wiped clean by the hand of the operative. The arrangement is used for dust extraction in rooms where yarn is spun, wound or cropped.
