Abstract
1,064,079. Articulated vehicles. E. ORTAFœLLING, [trading as EWALD SPETH MASCHINENFABRIK]. Dec. 30, 1963, No. 51177/63. Heading B7H. A general purpose vehicle having rigid driving axles comprises a motor carriage 1 and a load transport carriage 2 connected by claw members 4 and 6 and pivot pins 5 for articulation about a vertical axis. The claw member 6 has a sleeved connection 7 with the rear carriage 2 to allow articulation of the carriages about a horizontal axis. Steering is effected by an hydraulic cylinder 8, 9, the piston 9 of which is connected to the member 6. The vehicle has an engine 11, hydraulic transmission 12 and a distributor transmission 13, the drive to the axles being through an articulation shaft 16 and cardan shafts 14 and 15.
