Abstract

A blowing agent for polyurethane foams comprises a mixture of methylene chloride containing 0.25% to 50% of a paraffinic hydrocarbon, the hydrocarbon content of which comprises not more than 5% of aromatic hydrocarbons and not more than 30% of naphthenic hydrocarbons. A suitable hydrocarbon mixture may have an aniline print >195 DEG F., a viscosity S.U.S. at 100 DEG F. >500 and substantial solubility in methylene chloride. The hydrocarbon mixture may be obtained by dewaxing petrolatum. Examples relate only to a phosphorus containing polyol.
