Abstract

Aqueous hydrogen peroxide solutions are stabilized by the addition of a water-soluble tin compound and tartaric acid. The water-soluble tin compound may be an alkali metal stannate, e.g. sodium stannate. The water-soluble tin compound is used in amounts of 2.5 to 5 mg. per litre and the tartaric acid in amounts of 2.5 to 10 mg. per litre of solution. Ammonium nitrate (added to reduce the corrosiveness of hydrogen peroxide solutions) may also be present in the solution.
