Abstract

1,060,477. Froth flotation apparatus. KLOCKNER - HUMBOLDT - DEUTZ A.G. Aug. 4, 1964 [July 18, 1963], No. 30520/64. Addition to 1,005,479. Heading B2H. The cylindrical portion of a flotation chamber into which pulp is supplied by two or more tangentially-directed inlet pipes as described in the parent Specification, is modified by arranging for the cylindrical portion to be detachable from the rest of the chamber along planes at right-angles to the chamber axis and be formed of component parts 10, 11 which are so detachably-connected to one another along planes 9 parallel with the chamber axis that each part is provided with an inlet 12, 13. As shown in Fig. 2, the inlets 12, 13 are so arranged that swirl produced by the tangential entry is suppressed to avoid classification of particles in the chamber. When centrifugal action is desirable, the inlets may be arranged as shown in Fig. 3. In another embodiment, the inlets are staggered in an axial direction.
