A fulcrum bracket for a cistern comprises a base 10 and two side walls 11 each of the latter being formed with aligned openings 28 for a fulcrum pin, the base being of triangular shape and formed with a screw threaded hole 14 near to its apex. The bracket is positioned on a cistern wall with the wall lying between the base 10 and the undersides 19 of the sides 11, a face 24, of a reinforcing web 23 extending across the bracket between the side walls forming an abutment for the edge of the cistern wall. Tightening of the screw 15 in the hole 14 secures the bracket in position.
