Abstract

1,058,313. Mounting engines. GEORGE ANGUS & CO. Ltd. Feb. 27, 1964 [March 11, 1963], No. 8266/64. Heading B7H. [Also in Divisions F1 and F2] - A resilient mounting, e.g. for a motor vehicle power unit and of the kind comprising resilient element 3 which is surrounded by a rigid housing 1, is stressed mainly compressively and is connectible to the power unit with the interposition of a rigid element 5, 6, the resilient element being formed of a cellular polyurethane material. In Fig. 1 (not shown), the rigid element comprises a stud 6 and a plate 5. In a modification, Fig. 2, not shown, the plate (5) divides the resilient element into upper and lower ring and plate-like members (3b), (3a), respectively, a small annular gap (8) being provided between the elastic members and the casing (1). In a further modification, Fig. 3, not shown, the upper and lower resilient members are of trapezium shaped cross-section. In another construction. Fig. 4, not shown, an intermediate plate-like resilient member (3c) is sandwiched between the spaced plates of upper and lower stud-and-plate connecting members, ring-like resilient elements (3b), (3a) being interposed between the plates and the corresponding adjacent ends of the casing (1). According to Fig. 5, not shown, a transverse carrier 9 has its ends engaged between pairs of resilient blocks (3a), (3b) in housings (1).
