1446729 Selective printing SIEMENS AG 21 Dec 1973 [29 Dec 1972] 59590/73 Heading B6F [Also in Divisions E2 and F2] A spring mounted lever H for operating a printing hammer of a high speed printer (not shown) comprises rigid inner and outer rings I, A connected by a frictionless bearing arrangement of resilient spokes S, the lever H forming part of, i.e. an extension of, the outer (as shown) or inner (Fig. 7 not shown) rings A, I and the inner ring I, or outer ring A (which may be in separate parts Fig. 7), respectively being rigidly fixed whereby the lever H may be readily turned in the peripheral direction P on the frictionless bearing arrangement of the resilient spokes S which are flexible in the peripheral direction but radially rigid to support the lever H. As shown, the spokes S are all identical and of serpentine form and together with the lever H and outer and inner rings A, I are formed as an integral uniform thickness structure of synthetic plastics material. Alternatively the lever unit may be formed as an integral structure by the spark erosion technique using a wire electrode. Such integral spring mounted lever units (H1-H4) (Fig. 4 not shown) may be arranged in packs with interposed spacers (DS) bolted to a base plate (G) to provide an overall axially compact arrangement. In an alternative arrangement (Figs. 5 and 6 not shown) the spokes S are separately connected to the outer and inner rings A, I through intermediate seatings KS of synthetic plastics material. Various other shaped spokes and spoke arrangements between the outer and inner rings A, I, are illustrated in Figs. 3, 5 and 7 (not shown).
