Abstract

1,054,752. Load-gripping attachments for tractors. A. BOUHET. Feb. 28, 1964 [Feb. 28, 1963], No. 8485/64. Heading B8H. A boom 1, Fig. 1 (not shown), pivoted at 2 at one side of an inverted U-shaped frame 3 mounted on the rear axle of a tractor, is provided with a gripper device, Fig. 3, comprising an upright frame 7 supporting pivoted gripper arms 8, 9 and a fixed blade 15. The arms are actuated by hydraulic rams 16 pivoted between the rear ends of the arms 8 and arms 7e secured to the rear of the frame 7. The blade 15 may be detachable and may be replaced by two or more pins secured to the frame 7 and extending substantially parallel to the arms 8, 9. The frame 7 is provided with 4 skids 24 and is maintained upright by a link 18. Spring-mounted pads 10 are provided on the gripper arms 8.
