Abstract

1,054,574. Stud and socket fastenings. GOBIN DAUDE. S.A. May 6, 1964 [June 22, 1963], No. 18778/64. Heading E2B. A fastener for securing a strip B to a panel P comprises a stud portion 18, 19 adapted to be pressed through a hole in the panel, a main portion 22 connected to the stud portion by a portion of reduced diameter, so that in use the stud and main portions abut opposite surfaces of the panel to locate the fastener in the panel, the main portion 22 having shouders 29, 30 for engaging opposite side edges b 1 , b 2 of the strip and a head portion 27 adapted to project outwardly of the panel, the portion 27 being resiliently connected to the portion 22 so that the head portion is pressed inwardly into an inward position by the strip when the two side edges of the strip engage the two shoulders respectively. As described the head portion 27 is connected to the portion 22 by webs 25a, 26a, and has an inward extension 28 which, when the strip is placed over the fastener after the fastener has been inserted in the hole in the panel, enters a hollow in the reduced diameter portion of the fastener to prevent release of the fastener from the panel.
