[Also in Group XXV] A structural assembly comprises channel members 16, 17, 18, Fig. 2, each formed with inwardly turned flanges 22 and joined together mutually at right angles by a bracket 18 secured by bolts 14 which engage channel shaped nuts 15, Figs. 3, 7, located in the channel members and formed with serrated edges 30 which engage two rows of serrations 25 formed longitudinally on the inner faces of the flanges 22. The edge portions of the flanges 22 are turned inwardly to form parallel spaced ribs 23 which are engaged by the flanges 29 of the nuts 15. Each nut 15 is resiliently biased into engagement with the serrations 25 by a leaf spring 31 formed on the nut 15 and engaging the inner face of the web 20 of each channel member. This serves to retain the nut 15, when not engaged by a bolt, at any position along the length of a channel member. Indentations 33, 38 on the bracket 19 provide projections engaging between the ribs 23 on the channel members to locate the bracket and prevent relative rotation between it and the channel member. In addition when the bolts 14 are tightened, the flanges 29 on the nuts 15 clamp the ribs 23 against the projections.
