Abstract
1,051,348. Cabinets. N. F. PLASTOW. Nov. 17, 1965 [Aug. 25, 1964], No. 34694/64. Heading A4B. A kitchen cabinet or like structure comprises end panels 1, 2 with peripheral notches 3-10, longitudinally grooved lippings 11, 12 fitted over the longer edges of the panels 1, 2 to close the intermediate notches 7-10 and formrectangular apertures, and horizontal rails 13-16 fitted into aligned notches and apertures 3-10 in opposed panels 1, 2. The assembled parts of the structure may besecured together by nails or adhesive. The panels 1, 2 may be of plywood or plastics. A cabinet top 17 and shelves 18, 19 are supported by the rails 13-16. A pair of plinths 20, 21 fit into the bottom notches 5, 6 and support a bottom panel 22. Grooved rails 23, 24 secured to the horizontal rails 13, 14 support sliding doors 26. In another embodiment (Figs 3, 4 not shown), a partition panel 27 is notched to accommodate the horizontal rails 13-16. In this case, the cabinet has a working top 30, drawers 31, 32, and hinged doors 33, 34.
