Abstract
1,050,826. Labyrinth packing. H. ZILLER. Sept. 15, 1965 [Sept. 16, 1964], No. 39331/66. Heading F2B. A labyrinth seal between two rotating parts of, for example, an anti - friction bearing, comprises contactfree bent washers 11, 12, 21, 22 fixed to outer and inner cores 1, 2, the washers on the inside 11, 21 having three radial and three axial sections and the washers located on the outside 12, 22 having two radial and two axial sections. The washers are preferably made of steel, the spaces between them being packed with grease. The labyrinth path may be extended by providing further bent washers mounted on the same or separate cores.
