Abstract
1,050,725. Dynamo electric machines. A. KALTENBACH, and E. HOFFMEISTER. Sept. 30, 1963 [Oct. 1, 1962], No. 38497/63. Heading H2A. [Also in Division B3] A high speed (100,000 r.p.m.) drill or other machine tool drive is obtained from output shaft 25 of induction motor 3 which is mechanically coupled and electrically connected to a high frequency generator 2 driven by a controllable, mains supplied commutator motor 1. The generator is secured to motor 1 by through bolts 9 and the induction motor, which forms one end cover of the generator, is releasably secured to the generator casing by union nut 24. The generator and induction motor may be constructed as disclosed in Specification 1,038,011 and have contact segments 16, 32 respectively connected by spring-loaded contact members. The assembly may be secured in a housing provided with a handle and a supporting stand or alternatively the housing may be suspended from a rail.
