Abstract

1,048,108. Cabinets. BARTACO INDUSTRIES Ltd. Feb. 26, 1964 [Jan. 17, 1964], No. 7988/64. Heading A4B. [Also in Division E1] A structural member, for use in a cabinet framework, comprises a flat-bottomed, U-section main channel 10 having legs 11, 12 of unequal length, the longer leg 11 having at its inner face a panel receiving channel 13 opening away from the main channel base 10 and the shorter leg 12 having at its outer face a panel receiving channel 14 opening towards the main channel base 10, and both channels 13, 14 extending sustantially parallel to their associated legs 11, 12. The main channel is preferably formed from a single metal strip by folding. The panel receiving channels 13, 14 may be of uniform width (Fig. 1) or alternatively, (Fig. 2, not shown) may progressively decrease in width from their closed ends whereby a panel may be resiliently gripped between the channel walls. As shown in Figs. 5 and 6, a furnace casing includes a rectangular top frame 16, comprising channel members 22, 23, a rectangular bottom frame 17, comprising members 29, 31, corner uprights 18-21, front and rear wall panels 34, 35 received within the longer leg channels of the uprights 18-21 and of the rectangular frames 16, 17, a bottom wall 33 welded to the bottom frame 17, and a partition 39 supported in vertical channels 40, 41 and transverse channels 26, 27 and 42. The open-topped cabinet supports one or more trunk members 28, e.g. for hot air discharge and cold air delivery, which are received in the shorter leg channels of the top frame 16. Side access panels 36, 37 having inturned side edges which engage in the shorter leg channels of the uprights 18-21 are removably received at their upper and lower edges within the longer leg channels of the frame members 22, 23, 29 and 31.
