Abstract
1,047,728. Projection apparatus;panoramic viewing. T. GANZ and A. GANZ. Aug. 14, 1964 [Aug. 16, 1963], No.33262/64. Headings G2E and G2J. A panoramic projector assembly comprises a hollow dome 3, internally viewed from platform 10, and having translucent foil surfaces 20 upon which images are projected from a plurality of projectors 4 externally of the dome to form a composite picture there being a separate projector for each surface 20. To save space, reflectors 5 may be used with some of the projectors, and screens 11 exclude light from adjacent projectors. Still projection from slides or cine projection is used, the optical axes meeting at the point 7. The translucent foil is stretched on separate frames which define each surface 20 and which are attached to a skeleton framework. Alternatively, the dome 3 may comprise an inflatable structure whose skin is translucent. The projectors are operated by remote control.
