Abstract

1,047,112. Drycleaning apparatus. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC CORPORATION. Jan. 20, 1965 [Feb. 14,1964], No. 2494/65. Heading D1A. [Also in Division F4] Material is dry cleaned in a tub 2 preferably rotatable about a horizontal axis and then dried by a stream of air, the air supply and the cleaning fluid condensed from the air after drying being in good heat transfer relationship with temperature sensitive means which terminate the drying cycle when the material is sufficiently dry. Air from a blower 8 passes through a water cooled condenser 12 and through an electric coil heater 18 to tub 2 and then out through exhaust passage 26 and lint trap 33 and back to condenser 12. The condensate of water and cleaning solvent formed is separated in U-tube 34 and the cool cleaning fluid passes through outlet 40 to tube 42 to a tube 44 in which is placed a temperature sensing bulb 56. When the clothes are dry and fluid is no longer being condensed only relatively hot air will pass over bulb 56 and switch 60 will be actuated to cause the timing mechanism to restart and complete the sequence cycle.
