Abstract

1,047,067. Friction clutches. ZAVODY 9, KVETNA NARODNI PODNIK. May 7, 1964 [May 8, 1963], No. 19019/64. Heading F2C A centrifugal clutch for a gearless motorassisted pedal vehicle has input carried radially guided main and auxiliary centrifugal shoes 4, 6, the auxiliary shoes 6 being initially loaded outwards by tension or compression springs into engagement with the output drum 9 for providing torque for engine push-starting, the shoes 6 being retracted out of engagement through links 12 by the preliminary outward movement of the main shoes 4 at engine idle. The further outward movement of the main shoes to drive position is resisted by spring detents 13. In Fig. 2, not shown, the friction facings on the main and auxiliary shoes are provided asymmetrically at their leading and trailing ends respectively, to provide a degree of selftightening.
