1,046,165. Electric cells. ELECTRIC STORAGE BATTERY CO. June 3, 1965, No. 23755/65. Heading H1B. A deferred action battery utilizing an acid or neutral electrolyte has an anode of magnesium, zinc, aluminium or calcium and a cathode comprising a mixture of graphite, a compound yielding cuprous ions in water e.g. cuprous bromide, chloride or iodide, and one of the elements, sulphur selenium and tellurium. Between 5% and 40%, preferably 30%; by weight of sulphur is used in the cathode.
