Abstract
To ensure weldability, the composition of a Nb-base alloy containing:- Mo 4-6 V 4-6 Zr 0. 75-1.2 Nb the balance is further restricted in that Mo/Zr = at least 4.9 V/Zr = at least 4.9 Mo + V/Zr = at least 10. The Mo may be replaced wholly or partially by W on an equal atomic percentage basis.
