Abstract

[Also in Division F2] A discharge control valve for a pressurized dispensing container includes a movable valve member 30, 31 biased to the closed position and having at least one orifice 36 for inducing break up of the discharging material into droplets or for controlling the maximum rate of discharge, the orifice being disposed in a portion 30 of the valve member which is located on the discharge side of the valve when closed and is movable to expose the orifice for cleaning. In the preferred embodiment, the portion 30 is of moulded polythene with a transverse channel 37 at one end and may be replaced by other portions giving different spray characteristics or by a tubular member having large parts at one end for charging the container. The valve is loaded by a stainless steel spring 13 and seats against a washer 11 of natural or synthetic rubber.
