Abstract

1,041,835. Ventilation. H. LUEDER. April 29, 1963 [April 27, 1962], No. 16836/63. Addition to 941,321. Heading F4V. [Also in Division E1] The climate of a room is conditioned by providing pipes 16 in the floor for circulating a heating or cooling medium, by providing the remainder of the room boundary surfaces with a layer of bright rolled aluminium sheet 23, 24, 25 mounted on layers 20, 21, 22 of foam plastics material, and by providing a window 11 formed of inner and outer glass panes and a plurality of thin spaced parallel foils, the distance between the foils being in the range from 2 to 19 mm. and the foils having a refraction and/or absorption coefficient for radiant heat greater than that for visible light. The foils may be of polyethylene or polyethylene terephthalate with a thickness of 6 microns, and may be covered with a quarter-wave layer. There may be six such foils and the spaces in the window may be filled with carbon dioxide. The inner window pane 12 may be electrically heated. Fresh air is drawn by a fan 27 through an opening 26 to avoid cold air draughts at the window.
