Abstract

A detergent composition comprises a chlorinated phenol solubilized in an aqueous phase containing one or more detergents and one or more non-ionic detergents, the composition having a pH above 7 and a chlorinated phenol content above 2% by weight. Specified anionic detergents are alkylaryl sulphonates preferably containing an alkali metal, ammonium or alkylol substituted ammonium cation, alkyl sulphonates, alkyl sulphates, alkyl phenol polyglycol ether sulphates and alkyl polyglycol ether sulphates. Specified non-ionic detergents are alkyl phenol ethylene oxide condensates and fatty acid alkanolamides and ethylene oxide condensates thereof. Specified bactericides are 2,4 - dichloro - 3,5 - xylenol, 4-chloro-2-phenyl phenol, 6 - chloro - 2 - phenyl phenol, and 2,21 - dihydroxy - 3,5,6-31,51,61 -hexachloro diphenyl methane. Non-chlorinated phenols, e.g. o-phenyl phenol may be present. Other ingredients of the composition are urea, ethanol and perfumes.ALSO:An antiseptic and detergent composition comprises a chlorinated phenol solubilized in an aqueous phase containing one or more anionic detergents and one or more non-ionic detergents, the composition having a pH above 7 and a chlorinated phenol content above 2% by weight. Specified anionic detergents are alkyl aryl sulphonates preferably containing an alkali metal, ammonium or alkylol substituted ammonium cation, alkyl sulphonates, alkyl sulphates, alkyl phenol polyglycol ether sulphates and alkylpolyglycolether sulphates. Specified non-ionic detergents are alkyl phenol ethylene oxide condensates and fatty acid alkanolamides and ethylene oxide condensates thereof. Specified bactericides are 2,4-dichloro-3,5-xylenol, 4-chloro-2-phenyl phenol, 6-chloro-2-phenyl phenol, and 2,21-dehydroxy-3, 5, 6-31, 51, 61-hexachlorodiphenyl methane. Nonchlorinated phenols e.g. o-phenyl phenol may be present. Other ingredients of the composition are urea, ethanol and perfumes.
