Abstract

1,040,493. Block-bottom plastics bags. A. E. LAFLEUR and W. J. SONSARA. June 1, 1964, No. 22518/64. Heading B8K. A bag made of tubular heat sealable plastics material has rectilinear side panels 2 with inwardly extending gussets 3, there being diagonal heat seals 4, 5 each uniting a side panel with the connected piece of gusset, and transverse seals 11, 13 uniting the lower margins of the panels to each other and extending through and closing the lower extremities of the gussets; other seals 7 extend upwardly from the inner ends of the seals 4 and unite the panels to define sides of a filling opening 6. Further seals 8, 9 extend through the four layers of material of the two side panels 2 and gussets 3 and join with the seals 7. Closure is effected by a hot knife seal 10.
