Abstract

1401713 Valve bags BRITISH VISQUEEN Ltd 14 Nov 1973 [17 Jan 1973] 2395/73 Heading B8K A plastics valve bag of the kind having a U-shaped seal 5, 8, 9 joining together front and rear faces 2, 3 at their overlapping portion has perforations 11 in the inner ply of the overlap and a gap 12 in the seal 8 to enable air to escape as the bag is filled. If the venting is assisted by a vacuum nozzle two gaps are provided in the seal 8 one adjacent each end of the bag. The bag may be of one or more plies and be made of polyethylene or plasticized P.V.C. The perforations 11 may be microperforations, three pointed slits, larger circular holes, or crescent or straight-slits. The bag may contain plies of other than plastic material.
