Abstract

1,040,251. Window frames. B. H. TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. Sept. 9, 1963 [Sept. 10, 1962], No. 34533/62. Heading E1J. A window, door or panel frame comprises a hollow coreless synthetic plastic member 1 of substantially rectangular section with outwardly projecting hollow flanges 2 on the front and rear faces. The flanges are preferably of truncated triangular section but may be shallow rectangular flanges. The frame may be used with various section plastic inserts such as 7, Fig. 6, to provide fixed, sliding or hinged windows. A top hung window sash, Fig. 9, has hinges at 23 received between a frame 1 and hollow plastic sash frame 3, an insert 9 holding the glazing 21 and further sections 10 and 12 forming a stop and weather strips respectively. The frame may be used with glazing inserts as in Specification 1,040,252 to form a fixed window.
