Tool-holders have the clamping-bolt for the tool provided with a conical head b<1> split, preferably twice at right-angles, one of the splits passing through the axis of the toolreceiving bore, so that the bolt is clamped against rotation at the same time as it is drawn into the holder to grip the tool. In a modification, the tapered portion is square and pyramidal.
