Abstract

The invention comprises salts of p-substituted benzenesulphonylisoureas with mono- or di-substituted amines NHR2R3; the p-substituent (X) is NO2, NH2, Br, Cl or alkoxy and the amine substituents are selected from alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl radicals which may contain a hydroxyl substituent or the amine is a saturated C4- 8 nitrogen heterocycle. The salts are made directly and appear to have the formula <FORM:1038525/C2/1>ALSO:Herbicidal salts have the formula <FORM:1038525/A5-A6/1> wherein X is NO2, NH2, Br, Cl or alkoxy, M (of valency n) is an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, Mg or NH2R2R3 where R2 is alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl (optionally OH- substituted), R3 is as R2 or is H, or R2R3 is C4-8 alkylene. The salts may be formulated, with the usual additives, as dusts, solutions, dispersions and solid or liquid concentrates.
