Abstract
1,038,375. Transistor pulse circuits. PARMEKO Ltd. April 20, 1964 [April 20, 1963], No. 15664/63. Heading H3T. [Also in Division H2] A circuit TRIG1 is used to trigger the gate of a first silicon controlled rectifier controlling the drive and acceleration of an electric motor, whereas circuit TRIG2 triggers a second rectifier controlling the braking of the motor, as described in Specification 1,038,374. Capacitor C1 is charged when transistor VT1 is rendered conductive so that circuit TRIG1 produces a pulse output to trigger the first silicon-controlled rectifier, the voltage across circuit TRIG2 being removed. Current is maintained through circuit TRIG1 by Zener diode D1 until termination of the relevant half-cycle of the voltage applied to rectifier MR1. When there is no input to the transistor VT1, capacitor Cl is charged through resistor R2 to a value insufficient to fire the circuit TRIG1. At the end of a cycle of the supply voltage, the base potential of circuit TRIG2 falls as the voltage across diode D1 reaches zero, the base potential of circuit TRIG1 being prevented from falling by diode D4. Accordingly circuit TRIG2 will fire at the end of the cycle.
