Abstract

1,038,253. Feeding sheets. BETEILIGUNGS - UND - PATENTVERWALTUNGS. May 8, 1964 [May 11, 1963], No. 19326/64. Heading B6B. In apparatus for separating metal sheets sequentially from the top of a stack 1 and feeding them between rotary-cutter shears 10, the sheets are registered before separation from the stack by magnets, such as 2. As shown, the sheets, which are of ferromagnetic material, are separated by a pair of suckers 6 to a position where they are held temporarily by a holding magnet 7; they are then fed over a guide 9 between the rotary cutters 10 by a magnetic roller 8. The sheets are registered in the stack 1 by two front electromagnets 2, 3 (not shown), and a lateral electromagnet 4 (not shown), which are energized in sequence to attract the top sheets against wear-resistant guide faces 5 on the magnets. The magnets may be adjustably mounted, and are energized in synchronism with the working cycle of the apparatus.
