Abstract

1,036,722. Flexible hoses. BTR INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 24, 1962 [Aug. 25, 1961], No. 30772/61. Heading F2P. [Also in Division B5] In hose comprising woven fabric bonded to and/or impregnated with rubber, synthetic rubber or elastomeric plastics such as plasti cized PVC the fabric comprises continuous filament yarn doubled with staple fibre yarn in a process in which more tension is applied to the former than the latter yarn. The two yarns may be of the same or different material and the staple yarn may be of mixed materials, e.g. of cotton, rayon, nylon, propylene or polyethylene terephthalate. The continuous filament yarn may be of nylon. The yarns may have twist as used, or may be additionally twisted during doubling. The doubled yarn may be further doubled or incorporated with additional plies.
