Abstract

1,036,702. Fluid-pressure servomotors. WHITWORTH GLOSTER AIRCRAFT Ltd. Sept. 4, 1962 [Aug. 22,1961], No. 30311/61. Heading G3P. An electrically operated fluid pressure control valve for use in aircraft braking systems comprises a spool valve 2 which is loaded by a spring 1 and the lands 22, 23 of which control supply and return ports 9 and 5, respectively to determine the fluid pressure at outlet port 7. The position of the spool valve is determined by the pressure behind a jet nozzle 15 which co-operates with a diaphragm 15 the position of which is determined by the current in a coil 14, connected to a potentiometer. The chamber containing the loading spring is connected via a passage to the nozzle outlet chamber. The land 22 has fluid passages or slots 11 and 8 which permit fluid flow from the inlet 24 to the jet nozzle 15 and to the outlet passage 7 and the land 23 has passages or slots 4 which interconnect the outlet and return passages.
