Abstract

1,036,365. Laminates and laminating. DUFAYLITE DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. April 12, 1965 [May 27, 1964], No. 21979/64. Addition to 981,875. Heading BSN. Structural honeycomb material made by feeding a paper or other web, having lines of adhesive on both sides and having at intervals lateral hinge formations such as lines of cuts, downwardly on to a support so that the web folds naturally about the hinge lines and forms a stack, is characterized by the modification that the web comprises two or more continuous sheets, laminated together by adhesive lines and the lines of adhesive applied to the composite web, register with one another for an even number of sheets in the web, and are staggered for an odd number. Thus, in the stack shown in section in Fig. 3, where the composite web comprises two sheets A, B, the adhesive lines 6 securing them together are staggered in relation to the lines 8 applied to the web (these lines coinciding and adhering to each other in the stack), whereas a third sheet C, when provided, is adhered to A by staggered lines 9<SP>1</SP>, and has external adhesive lines 8<SP>1</SP> which are staggered in relation to the lines 8. The spaces between the adhesive lines permit lateral expansion of the stack (i.e. in the plane of section shown).
