[Also in Division E1] A reinforced sheet or board comprises a sheet 1 of low density material, e.g. expanded polystyrene, polyurethane or P.V.C. and a reinforcing facing comprising spaced paper or cardboard strips 2 adhered to one or both faces thereof. The strips 2 may be perforated and may be adhered to the sheet 1, e.g. at localized areas, by a water-based adhesive containing sodium silicate. In another embodiment the reinforcing facing is formed by applying a facing sheet of paper or cardboard to the sheet 1 and then forming the facing sheet with a series of spaced apart parallel cuts by means of rotary cutters. The sheet or board may be used in lining or providing a ceiling or wall.
