Abstract

1,036,150. Electrically tripped switches; electromagnetic switches. SOC. APPAREILLAGE THERMOFLEX, ETABLISSEMENTS J. M. DARD. April 6, 1964 [Dec. 23, 1963], No. 14040/64. Heading H2B. On energization of coil 2 the relay armature 4 is attracted causing main contacts 9 and 12 to close and complete a circuit from leads 10 and 11. The main movable contact 9 is carried at one end of a blade 8 urged by a spring 14 into flat engagement with an insulating block 7 carried by the armature. On de-energization the armature is moved clockwise by spring 6, contacts 9 and 12 open, and one end of blade 8 abuts a retractable stop 18 which causes the blade 8 to pivot about an edge 7a of block 7. An auxiliary contact 15 carried by blade 8 is thus caused to engage an auxiliary contact 16 mounted on the block 7 and complete the circuit between leads 10 and 11. The circuit through the auxiliary contacts is only broken when the stop 18 is retracted. As shown, the stop is an electrically heated compensated bi-metal but it may be in the form of an electromagnet. The auxiliary contact 16 may be mounted on a stationary member.
