Teaching rifleshooting. - Relates to target apparatus of the kind in which the movements of the gun are followed by a telescopic pointer in contact with the metallic face of a miniature target. The invention consists in the combination of a fixed base-plate A<1>, Figs. 1 and 1<a>, a movable base-plate A jointed thereto at the rear end and adapted to be adjusted by screws C, C<1>, Fig. 1, in horizontal and vertical planes, a pillar D rising from the plate A and having a ball socket at the top, a ball D' carrying a stem D' for supporting the rifle, a stem D' projecting forwardly from the ball, and a system of levers terminating in a telescopic pointer F which is in contact with the face of a miniature target G. The miniature target is, as shown, in Fig. 4, made of segments each of which is separately connected to an indicator such as H, Fig. 6, on an indicator target. In the chamber of the gun barrel is a switch made in the form of a dummy cartridge J, Fig. 7. When the trigger is pulled, the contact J' is driven forwards and closes the circuit, the current passing along the pointer F, through a segment of the subtarget G, to the corresponding indicator on the large target.
