Abstract

103,512. Hansen, A. Jan. 26, 1916. Cutting slices in succession.-A device for cutting bread, meat, &c. consists of a stand 1 having a vertical support 2 for a roller 6 and for a handlever 3. This lever carries a spring barrel 7 around which passes a cord 5, which also passes around the roller 6, and the other end of which is fixed to the lever. In place of the spring barrel, a drum and weight may be used. The lever also carries a rotary cutter, so that as the lever is depressed, the cutter rotates and cuts the bread &c. on the stand, while, when the lever is released, the spring (or the weight) causes the lever to return to its upper position. A stop 11, adjustable by means of a screw 12 on one arm of a bell-crank lever 10, is moved away so as to allow the slice to fall when the cut is made by means of a connexion 8 to the lever 3 working between stops 9 on the other arm of the bell-crank lever 10.
