Abstract

1,034,852. Compressed air motors. T. YAMADA. Feb. 15, 1963 [April 12, 1962; April 24, 1962], No. 6137/63. Heading F1M. The piston 3 of a compressed air motor has a hollow plunger rod 4 the interior of which is in communication with the interior of the motor cylinder 2 via ports 6. Compressed air is supplied through an inlet 31, lifts a valve body 29, passes through a tube 10 and into the cylinder via ports 12, 6, to raise the motor piston 2. Towards the end of the stroke a spring 7 contacts a member 11 and the tube 10 is raised until an annular projection 20 seats on the valve body 29 to seal the ports 17. Compressed air then enters the portion A of the cylinder 2, passing under the projection 20 and towards the end of this stroke the piston contacts a spring 12 to move the tube 10 downwardly. On the upward stroke the portion A is vented through a passage 27 and outlet 26 until a cylinder 15 is moved upwardly by the tube 10 and an annular packing 19 contacts the underside of an annular passage 25. On the downward stroke the portion B of the cylinder 2 is vented through the tube 10, radial ports 16 and the outlet 26.
