Abstract

1,034,087. Cooking in fat. F. KœPPERSBUSCH & SÍHNE, A.G. May 19, 1965 [May 30, 1964], No. 21136/65. Heading A4D. Apparatus for frying or otherwise cooking food such as potatoes in fat comprises a fat pan 1 with an openwork false bottom 2, an electric heating unit 3 and an endless conveyer consisting of chains 9, 10 connected by transverse slats 8, which descends along an entry slope 4 and leaves the pan by an exit slope 5. Fat is heated in a separate transportable fat tank 20 and circulated to the pan 1 and back to the tank 20 by a pump 22 and the tank 20 may be fitted with a filter. The fat may drain from an overflow sump 26 adjustable along the exit slope 5 to allow regulation of the fat level in the pan 1. The two chain conveyer may be replaced by a single chain carrying transverse slots.
