Abstract
1,033,860. Piston packing. PHILIPS GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN N.V. Dec. 10, 1964 [Dec. 13, 1963], No. 50304/64. Heading F2T. [Also in Division F1] Two coaxial pistons 2 and 3, Fig. 2 (not shown) reciprocate in a cylinder 1 and a seal comprising a rolling diaphragm 11 is arranged in an annular gap whose walls are formed by wall parts 12 and 13 of the cylinder 1 and piston 2 respectively which converge towards the space adjacent the convex side of the diaphragm. In other embodiments of the diaphragm its concavity may be downwards or the seal may be constituted by two rolling diaphragms the concave sides of which face one another. The wall parts may also converge along curved instead of straight lines.
