Abstract

An adhesive layer for use in a pressure-sensitive transfer sheet (see Division D2) comprises paraffin wax with 5% of ditertiarybutylparacresol.ALSO:A mashing layer for use in a pressure-sensitive transfer sheet (see Division D2) is made from a composition comprising: .titanium oxide .. ...15% .barium sulphate .. ...10% .polyvinyl acetochloride ...20% .white spirit .. ...35% and .methylated spirit .. ...20%ALSO:A set of sheets for the automatic reproduction of characters written or typed upon the first sheet of the set has on the back of each sheet but the last an adhesive layer and on the front of each sheet but the first an opaque layer of light colour and adapted to be drawn off by the adhesive layer where they are pressed together to reveal a layer of dark colour beneath it. The dark colour may be that of a base sheet of e.g. paper or may be a coating on the surface of the paper. The different sheets of the set may have dark layers of different colours. The adhesive layers may serve also to secure the sheets together by the application of heat and pressure along one edge. The adhesive layer may be of paraffin wax with 5% of ditertiarybutylparacresol, and the light-coloured layer of itanium oxide, barium sulphate and polyvinyl acetochloride, applied as a solution in white spirit and methylated spirit.
