Abstract

1,033,327. Swivel joints. BURMAN & SONS Ltd. and W. H. BRIGGS. March 29, 1965 [May 14, 1964], No. 20076/64. Heading E2F. In a swivel joint a socket with arms 19, 20 has plane surfaces machined on the inner faces of the arms which engage with partcylindrical surfaces 22 on a spigot 21. The two parts are held in engagement by a pin 23, the accommodating hole 24 in the spigot being shaped to allow movement of the joint and may enclose a spring to urge the spigot into engagement with one arm of the socket. The joint may be packed with grease and covered by a flexible rubber boot.
