Abstract

1,031,989. Refrigerating. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGS - G.m.b.H. April 11, 1963 [April 16, 1962], No. 14613/63. Heading F4H. A refrigerant evaporator comprises a coil having one of its ends closed and a capillary tube which extends through the coil and discharges at a point adjacent said closed end. As shown, the evaporator comprises an aluminium plate 1 to which an aluminium coil 2 is secured, an accumulator 3 being formed at one end of the coil and the other end 9 of the coil being closed. An aluminium portion 4 of the suction line is connected to the accumulator 3 and is welded at 6 to a copper line 5, the capillary tube 7 being introduced at 8 into the line 5 and extending through line 4 and the coil 2 to terminate at a point 10 adjacent the closed end 9 of the coil. The evaporator may be of rollbonded construction and may be non-planar (Fig. 2, not shown).
