Abstract

103,167. British Thomson-Houston Co., (General Electric Co.). Jan. 18, 1916. Contacts.-In a contactor switch having wiping or rolling contact action obtained by pivoting the movable contact member 7, 8, 10 at 11 on the pivoted armature 3 of the switch and interposing a spring 12 between the movable contact member and the armature, the contact members are made adjustable with reference to one another in stages, so that the normal amount of wiping action can be maintained in spite of wear. In the construction shown, the movable contact tip 7, together with its support 8, is adjustable on the arm 10, the meeting surfaces of the arm and support being provided with fine serrations 16 which interlock and permit a fine adjustment of the support along the arm. The support is clamped by one or more screws 17 passing into the arm through slots in the support.
