Abstract
1,031,176. Control of A.C. motors. FEMNYOMO ES LEMEZARUGYAR. April 16, 1963 [April 16, 1962], No. 14897/63. Heading H2J. A starter relay for a split phase motor has its coil 1 in series with main phase winding 2, and contacts 10 which are adapted to disconnect the auxiliary phase winding 7 when the motor current decreases at the end of the starting period. If this period tends to become prolonged due to the supply voltage being above its rated value, a bimetallic switch 4 short-circuits a portion of coil 1 to ensure disconnection of the auxiliary winding. The switch 4 is adapted to close contacts 8, 9, when its element is heated by the auxiliary current. The bimetallic switch may have a heater resistor.
