Abstract
1,031,094. Pyrotechnic apparatus. SCHERMULY Ltd. April 26, 1963 [April 27, 1962], No. 16118/62. Addition to 863,727. Heading F3A. The igniter of the combined pyrotechnic device, discharger and support member as claimed in claim 1 of the parent Specification is a percussion igniter 46 initiated by an electrically actuated striker mechanism 47. The mechanism 47 comprises a solenoid winding 50 and a movable steel core 48 forming the striker rod. When the winding 50 is de-energized a spring 53 holds the rod 48 away from the igniter 46. When the winding is energized the rod 48 moves against the action of the spring to initiate the igniter.
